Rumors of stone attack by Kwara people against state officials confirmed

POLICE in Kwara State has confirmed the rumour of a plan to pelt with stones some government officials of the state at the central Moslem praying ground in Ilorin during the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir this week.
There has been rumour that the officials would be stoned and pelted with sachets of pure water at the occasion even though the brains behind the planned action were yet to be uncovered.
In Islamic religion, it is a shameful thing for anyone to be stoned by congregation.
Already, scores of the policemen under the command have been deplored to strategic junctions in Ilorin to prevent the breakdown of law and order in the ancient town.
The reason for the planned attack is not also yet known but it is being insinuated in some quarters that it might not be unconnected with alleged default in payment of salaries of some workers in the state.
